Glenwood’s on-campus elementary
schools enroll students in grades 2 through 8. The schools
are fully accredited by the Independent Schools Association
of the Central States and have full Recognition from the Illinois
State Board of Education. They are staffed by teachers proficient
in their subject areas and with first-hand knowledge of our
students’ needs. The average class size is 12-15 students,
which allows children to receive more individualized attention.
Students study core subjects – language arts, math,
computers, reading, social and physical sciences.
In addition to our small class size, Glenwood has a Resource
Education Program for those students requiring individual
educational plans. After school help, including some tutoring
by volunteers, may be available for those students who need
it.
After graduation from eighth grade, and with the family’s
and staff's support, a student may choose to continue living
at Glenwood and attend one of the local high schools. Students
living on the South Campus attend Marian Catholic or Bloom
Township High Schools. On the Rathje Campus, students attend
St. Edwards High School or Westminster High School.
